Step 2 - Securing Approval
Though faculty, staff, and students are the principal investigators or project directors of their research and creative endeavors, including grants and contracts resulting from external funding awards, Central Michigan University serves as the recipient of the support. As such, ORSP is responsible for oversight, compliance, management, and appropriate conduct of research and sponsored activities on behalf of the principal investigator or project director and all involved in the collaborative team. It is imperative that CMU maintain a standardized and centralized infrastructure to the review, approval, submission, acceptance, and management of all research and sponsored programs and activities. The CMU review and approval processes are clearly defined and annunciated to provide CMU with the necessary and appropriate controls for compliance and management.
